Rome is a city and commune in Italy. Rome is the capital of Italy and also  the province and the region of Lazio. With a population of  2.7 million in 1,285.3 km2 (496.3 sq mi), it is the country’s largest and the most populated commune and fourth  populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. The urban area has extended beyond the administrative city limits with a population of around 3.8 million. Between  3.2 and 4.2 million people live in  metropolitan area of Rome. The city is located in central-western  portion of  Italian Peninsula. Rome is the only city in the world which contain  its interior in  a whole state; the enclave of Vatican City. Rome has a status of  global city. Rome is  the 11th-most-visited city in the world, 3rd most visited in the European Union, and the most popular tourist attraction in Italy. Rome  is one of the Europe’s and the world’s most successful city, both in terms of reputation and assets.

Italy, is the city with a long Mediterranean coastline, that has left a powerful mark on Western culture and cuisine. Rome is the  home to the Vatican as well as a  landmark art and ancient ruins. The major cities in rome which includes  Florence, has a  Renaissance masterpieces like Michelangelo’s "David" and Brunelleschi's Duomo. Venice is known as  the city of canals; and Milan, Italy’s fashion capital.
